the Path of the Sun

Beeing able to capture a period of time far beyond our own vision is incredible and yet very simple.
The analogue camera was facing south and loaded with photographic paper instead of film. Exposure time was of 24hrs. The Sun traced it's arc from east to west.

Synchronicity

In july 2004 I gave a workshop on photography at the "International Spiritual Art Camp ARTE DIEM" in Romania.
On the last day, I photographed friends for Yoga Magazine.
Four years latter, on the month of September, two french publications (Sciences Humaines & Muze) used these very images. Click on them if you want to read (les textes en français)....

This silhouette belongs to Julia, a swiss goddess living in India...
As for the technique behind this photo, it was of course shoot on film and printed on Ilford warm tone fiberbase paper, sepia toned and gold toned, a combination that give this redish color....The final and unique image is a silver print coated with gold. Try this with digital....

what's her name ?

Can anyone reconize this woman? I photographed her last summer in Costinesti/Romania....
She is till the end of this week in Bucarest for a beauty contest...
She did win of course....

the grim

When Diana asked me to photograph her as a "Grim Reaper" I did not know what that was but I made the picture anyway.
She likes to play all kind of caracters, but she is much more of an angel than a Grim.

Falling from the sky, landing on snow.....

Diana just got selected to be part of the national sky-diving team of Romania. She went to find out today about the rest of the team and discovered other girls to be "animals"...
So, back to the gym with a personal trainer and serious "mise en condition" in perspective...
Jumping off airplanes is the most natural thing to do for this beauty...

On the way to Herculane or how to travel by train in Romania for half the fare of a second class ticket and be at ease in first class… Thanks to Iringo; she never buys a train ticket but takes her friends with her and hypnotizes the controller….

Cristina, probably my sister from another life and a very dear friend in this one...we both are in the same yoga school and we even live in the same ashram...that is to say in a big family of about 25...she was playing in the courtyard with the water hose last july when I remembered that it was her birthday... I interrupted the game to photograph her... it is said that we are the closest to our self on this day...this must be why she seems so centered...

Arthur

Arthur is always smiling... could be from his intense yoga practice... 8 hrs a day 365 days no matter what happens...
5 days / week he does 10 hrs of karma yoga...voluntary work mostly in construction building for the yoga school.
I admire his courage and dedication to spiritual evolution... he told me stories from his time as an israeli officer on the egyptian and palestinian borders but you would have to meet him to hear them.....

Victoria called me today asking if I wanted to go make some photos...a few months since I have seen her...Vertical light with no shadow in sight except in this old little rusted Fiat, the windshield was so dirty that I could barely see Victoria thru it but a little water helped...
